This is by far my favorite pizza joint. I consider myself somewhat of a connoisseur of pizza and these guys have the best crust ever. You do have to consider an extra wait but it's worth it. On the other hand, do not order the fish and chips.... it used to be really good but they switched and now it's some frozen something that shouldn't be served.

Since moving away from downtown Albany and into the "burbs", Spinners Pizza & Subs has quickly become my go-to take-out pizza joint. Here's why: -They are very close. -They are impeccably fast (outside of weekend evenings). -Great coupon specials. -The garlicky crust. -Sheet or Pie style And while many local pizzerias around here try to unsuccessfully imitate the beloved thin-crust NYC style (overrated anyways), Spinners doesn't try to be anything it is not. They are proud (as far as I know) to just be a neighborhood Albany pizzeria.

Everything I've ever gotten from here whether it be pizza, apps, subs whatever has been so good...it's one of my fav spots in Albany when I'm in that area.

The worst customer service!! Was told Delivery would be 45 min. 1hour 20 min later food arrives. Cold fried food, the worst wings I have ever had delivered, Soggy wet and cold. I Will never order or call this disgusting place again I would advise anyone to go to DC's pizza instead. If it wouldn't come out of the drivers money I would've sent the food back

We just moved to this neighborhood. Food is good and husband loves pizza. We ordered the chicken Parm dinner tonight, expecting chicken and pasta. There was no pasta. I've never ordered chicken Parm and not had pasta. For $9, there is a little salad, a price of garlic beard and 2 chicken breasts. Value wise, it isn't worth it without the pasta. When we called to inquire where the pasta was, (takeout) the girl on the phone said they don't sell pasta, but yet they sell ziti and lasagna. It's too bad because the chicken was good.

The food is okay, but the service is awful. I called for delivery and was told 1 to 2 hours, so I vouched for the more definite pick up wait of 1 hour. I came in exactly an hour later and my food was cold. I left the restaurant and realized half of my order wasn't in the bag. I went back and told them and they said I was supposed to get it myself (brownies and soda). If I tell someone my entire order in order to pick it up...I feel my ENTIRE order should be in the bag and that I shouldn't have to check a list of what I ordered to make sure everything is in the bag. If I wanted to check off lists I would have went grocery shopping.

I will always have a soft spot for spinners sandwiches and wings, but as for their pizza all I can say is way too much cheese and the crust is usually either doughy or burnt. There is more cheese than crust, and over the years their sauce has gotten more and more bland. If you like sandwiches or subs and quick delivery I recommend this place but if you want pizza id have to say look else where.

Yummy Food and Good Value - Slow Delivery Have enjoyed all orders so far - pizza, RB sandwich, Tuna Sub, salad. Delivery has been slow. I don't know why but they seem to refuse to take the delivery instructions even if emphasized/repeated and show up at the wrong place.

Great food, decent prices, generally excellent service. I've been ordering from Spinners since the early 2000s and their food never fails to meet expectations. When ordering delivery, they usually say about 45min-1 hour but we usually get our delivery in half the time.

***update to review - I usually let things like this slide, but whoever answers the phone needs a serious attitude adjustment. She's very short with you and rude. So good luck with that. Good thing the food is worth it. I have only gotten delivery, and the food has arrived hot and close to the time requested (the earlier you call, the more likely you'll get it when you want). Great selection of food, I've never received anything that was disappointing. Great salads, I highly recommend trying them out - fresh ingredients and a nice portion.

Updating prior reviews. Problems were long waits for basic items even when they did not appear or if these order was called in it wasn't ready on time. Been there probably ten times since and this hasn't been an issue at all. Food consistently very good service pleasant and it appears to be very clean

I stopped by Spinners Pizza, which is a casual neighborhood pizza joint located in a small strip plaza off Whitehall Rd. The place is order at the counter and there is a seating area in the adjacent room. The menu is extensive which offerings include traditional & specialty pizzas, calzones, salads, subs, appetizers, pasta dinners (with salad & garlic bread), deli salads, cold Pepsi drinks, and desserts. The prices here seem reasonable and they offer pizza slices & soda specials and large meal deals. I had an Entertainment coupon for 50 percent off regular price of a pizza. I decided on a 12 cut rectangular sausage pizza (normally $12.99, it was $7 total with discount and tax). I was not allowed to use the coupon for specialty pizzas. The place was very busy on a Saturday night, so it took about 25 minutes for my pizza order to be ready. The pizza itself was good. The semi thick garlic crust was chewy & soft inside topped with plenty of cheese and ground sausage. However, there was very little tomato sauce on the pizza, definitely needed more for the pizza to be better. The pizza slices were good reheated for several snacks and small meals on the cheap. I also had tomato sauce at home to dip the pizza slices. I may return to Spinners for dinner.

The food is very good. If you could order, go in and pay by self-checkout this establishment would be great. The issue at hand is you wait. You. Really. Wait. In fact I had ordered a sandwich by phone and went in to get it at the time they mentioned. It was sitting in a bag on the counter. The girls behind the counter, although busy answering phones, barely address anyone standing, waiting. When they finally did get around to asking me if they could help me (and keep in mind I was standing right at the counter the whole time not hovering in the back like so many others do there because they are not sure who or when to speak to anyone to order of pickup) the sandwich had sat there for 10 additional minutes. I probably will not return due to the fact that this has happened a few times to me now. It is a shame because I like to patronize small businesses and this one could be so much better with a few customer service tweaks.

We get the pizza and wings from here all the time. Definitely a great pizza place. They have some awesome sandwiches too, e.g. The Italian Bomber. Great little hidden gem. Better to get take out. In my opinion delivery takes way too long.

Ok, there exists the possibility that I was in error. My daughter still sends me text messages from her room but I'm old and must adapt. Tonight's choice was a meatball sub. It arrived in a timely manner and hot. It tasted great. I cannot in good conscience complain about it. My daughter enjoyed her wings.

How refreshing to state the best customer service I have been involved with by a business. We ordered a pizza for delivery and the wrong pizza was delivered. The driver left so I called Spinners and told them what happened. Without hesitation, the girl apologized and said "we will make you another and send it right over"..no questions asked.. Pizza arrived 1/2 hour later.. The driver did not want to accept a tip. When we order pizza, it's usually from them and it is always good. Highly recommend this business

Ordered a pickup meal on Mealeo to be picked up at 730pm. I'm pretty sure they made the food at around 430 when I ordered it and left it to sit under some heat lamps. The sub was soggy and gross, the fries had condensation in the packaging, and my ceasar salad was a pre-packaged and cellophane wrapped handful of romaine lettuce and shreds of parmesan with two mysterious lemon wedges and a pack of ceasar dressing. Just bad.

THEY MADE ME PAY THE DIFFERENCE!!!! The food itself is ok for the area, but the people behind the counter are always ridiculously rude! I ordered a large pie for pick-up. I go there, paid and was given a small pizza. I explained that I had ordered a large cheese. The girl told me that she'd give me 2 regular sized slices to make up for it!?!!? After I explained how that wouldn't work, another pizza was made - 20 minutes later...AND THEY MADE ME PAY THE DIFFERENCE!!!!

  • Matthew M.

Food quality is average to high, but the wait on Friday and Saturday nights is insane. Much longer than quoted. Pizza is very good, like the wing sauces especially whiskey barrel, salads are nice, prices very fair, it's a four star restaurant minus one star because I'm always too hungry to properly enjoy the food. And I pick up, I bet this goes double for delivery. They're just busy, not slow. A victim of their own popularity, but still a factor to consider. Pizza is thick crust, thick cheese, light sauce. Not my favorite but pies like the Italian crusher and the chunky Chicago are so interesting it puts the okay base pie over the top. Their chicken pie uses huge cuts of fried chicken cutlets and I am not a fan.

We are still searching for a pizza joint in Albany that we can both agree on. I have been forever ruined by my love for DeFazio's in Troy. We may have found a contender for an easy pizza night at home in Spinners. We tried the Italian Crusher pizza (white pizza with roasted red peppers, tomatoes, and hot cherry peppers). The crust was flavorful and had a nice bite to it. The toppings were good quality and not too greasy. I would get this pizza again. It helps that this place is easy to get to for a quick pick up too.

Have you ever heard of a neighborhood pizza & sub shop that has an 8-page menu? Stunning: 1/2 page of salads 1/2 page of fried things 1/2 page of sandwiches 1/2 page of specialty sandwiches 1 page red specialty pizzas 1 page white specialty pizzas 1/2 page lunch combos 1/4 page wraps 1/4 page dinners 1 page party trays 1 page mega-combo specials plus a front cover Doesn't really matter when the pizza is just ok. Really the crust is to blame. It's just too darn chewy. Cheese was tasty and the sauce was good. They do put on the garlic powder on the edge like Lou Bea's. But it's just chewy. Not enough yeast? Too heavy on sauce and cheese? Oven not hot enough? I can't tell you the cause, only the result. $1.50 per slice. And there is a large dining room to take your food and eat it comfortably at a proper table. Wings are just ok too. Hot isn't all that hot. Crispy isn't all that crispy. But you can order just 6 of them and have a franks-and-butter wing snack, which always makes me happy. When I was there I was surprised to see a large contingent of burly manly men getting lunch. Mostly getting it to go. Maybe it's because Spinner's serves filling food for modest prices. Or it could have something to do with the attractive and friendly women working the counter in too tight shirts. I'm not judging. Only reporting.

I moved to Albany 5 years ago and have been searching and searching for a 5-star worthy pizza place. This is it. Everyone has that perfect pizza in their mind, my perfect pizza has always been based off of Wegmans pizza (being from central New York). Spinner's pizza is the closest thing I've ever found to Wegmans. The crust is a little thicker than what you normally find around here, which was great. Everything from the sauce to the cheese to the pepperonis, were delicious and cooked perfectly. Highly recommended :)

Since I moved to Albany (within walking distance of Spinner's) I have made them a part of my usual take-out routine. While Spinner's pizza isn't the best, and varies from absolutely delicious to pretty "meh", they have a mammoth menu and many of the other things on it are quite good. They're usually swamped around lunch time, but that is because they have cheap lunch specials (two slices of pizza and a soda for $4-5 depending on toppings) and quick service. My roommate and I are absolutely addicted to their steak sandwiches. Steak, peppers, and onions covered with provolone cheese (I switch this out for mozzarella) mmmm! I absolutely recommend you give one a shot if it is up your alley. They're available in full and half size.

In 2 recent orders at work, they managed to get just about everything wrong. The first time it was a white broccoli pizza instead of a pepperoni. The second time they left off one of the two toppings ordered on the pizza, spontaneously decided to replace the dressing for the Greek salad with blue cheese, and the wings were stone cold. The sauce for the moonshine wings is really tasty though, so I'll probably throw a couple bucks in next time people at work order anyway. I just wouldn't go out of my way to eat there on my own.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
